• Lost teeth can sometimes be replaced. Place the lost tooth in the socket or in a glass of milk and get to the dentist within 30 minutes to give the dentist a better chance of reimplanting it.
• If you break or chip a tooth, save the chip. Your dentist may be able to use it to repair your tooth.
• Do not remove broken wires yourself. Leave that job to your dentist.

The following cases, although not urgent, do require attention:

• Swelling and pain, which could be signs of infection.
• Loose teeth and bleeding gum, which may be signs of gum disease

Keeping your teeth and mouth clean is an essential part of good dental health. It prevents tooth decay, bad breath, gum disease, and maintains your winning smile.

Brushing and flossing daily is vital to our good oral health. They are both common practice, but if not done correctly, may not be as effective. To maximize the benefits, it is important to brush for a minimum of 2 minutes, at least twice a day and and ideally after any meals or sugary snacks. The brush should be used back and forth, up and down, and in a circular motion. Don’t forget to brush your gums as well as your teeth! It is best to use a soft or medium brush, and be gentle. Your brush should be replaced every 3 months.

Flossing helps remove dental plaque that brushing failed to remove. You should floss at least once daily, using a fresh section for in between each tooth. Antibacterial mouthwashes can also maintain good oral health. Mouthwash can help prevent gingivitis and tooth decay.
