A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium and used to replace missing teeth. The implants support dental crown or other restorations. Dental implants are an ideal long term replacement for missing teeth because they don’t affect the bordering teeth and they help strengthen your bone tissue.
How implants work:
Implants are surgically placed in your jawbone, where they bond naturally with your bone tissue over time. Once the implant is in place a restoration such as a crown can be affixed to it. For some restorations, such as dentures, several implants may be used.
